Josh Howard // founder

Hope Technologies Sacramento was birthed from seeing the effects of poverty on peoples lives at a young age. 

Josh's professional career and personal life have been focused on challenging the impossible. He has worked as a Medical Device R&D Engineer since 2007 developing products in the neuromodulation and orthopedic space. He has a proven track record of turning innovative product ideas from abstract to reality. He holds many patents and has been involved in all stages of product development from ideation to launch. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University (Linkedin).

Josh and his wife Brittany live in Sacramento California. Josh and Brittany are active in their local church community and neighborhood. Josh has served on three elder boards, including where he currently serves at One Church, assisted in 3 church plants and led a house church. He has initiated and directed various outreach events at the churches he serves. 

 

STEFNIE EVANS // BOARD MEMBER

Stefnie Evans is a pure elemental force of educational energy. Her extensive academic background and critical teaching experience play the perfect soul mate to a heart wide enough for several universes to comfortably inhabit. Born in Oakland CA, alongside her two sisters, Stefnie’s teaching path was firmly cemented at a young age, witnessing the incredible educational feats of her mother.

Stefnie is an educator accomplished in both applied learning theory, and mathematics content. She has a proven record of being able to present information in a way that is accessible to diverse groups through being innovative in turning learning theory into practice.

In addition to her BS in Electrical Engineering, Stefnie Evans also holds an MA in Mathematics Education and an MA in Educational Foundation with a focus in Psychology. She was a presenter for the Western Regional Noyce Conference 2022 (Taking Your Mind Back -Teaching Data Interpretation), part of the LAUSD Math Leaders Collaborative, is an active Mentor Teacher for ACT (Accelerated Collaborative Teacher Program) and ACT-R (Residential), a CAASPP Testing Coordinator, a finalist for the California League of Schools High School Educator of the Year Recognition in 2019, a National Science Foundation Teaching Fellow from 2011-2016, and numerous other distinguished awards and accomplishments.

chancellor J.A. Veal, Esq. // board member

Chancellor Veal attended San Francisco State University and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He continued his educational journey that  culminated Chancellor earning his Juris Doctorate degree from McGeorge law school in 2017. Chancellor now practices criminal law in California.

In addition to serving on the Board of Hope Tech, Chancellor serves on the Board of the Wiley Manuel Bar Association-an African American bar Association in Sacramento, California.

It is Chancellor’s hope that he can help increase the number of disadvantaged youth into professional areas that too often overlook their inclusion. This passion is derived from words his college professor continuously echoed to his students,” That it is the responsibility of you all to take what you learn at this institution and beyond, and go back into your communities to inspire the next you to follow in your footsteps.”

 

alan stead // board member

Alan and his wife Karen have 4 kids and have lived in the Sacramento area since 2003.  Alan works at Intel as a program manager and software engineering manager in Intel's Internet of Things group, and has been at Intel since 2005.  He first got involved with computer programming as a kid writing text based games in Basic, and is excited to see other kids develop a passion for computers.  

Alan has a BS and MS in Computer Science and an MBA.  He was born in Uruguay, and as a kid moved to several countries before finally settling down in northern California. He has loved being able to serve in and out of church in different capacities since high school.

Brigg Sterns // Board Member

Brigg was born in Waxahachie, Texas and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He has a BA in Biblical Counseling from the Master’s University in Santa Clarita, CA. Brigg is an accomplished Music Producer, Composer, Musician and Minister of Music. He has served as Minister of Music and musician for various ministries in Texas and California.  As a composer and music producer, Brigg has also utilized his talents to do scores for film and television for networks such as Showtime, NBC, ABC, MTV, OWN, Oxygen, BET and TV One to name a few, and recently won honorable mention in 2017 for best film score at Los Angeles Film school awards.  Brigg’s favorite jobs are being the husband of Endyia Kinney-Sterns, and the father of Judah and Cairo Sterns. They currently live in Los Angeles, CA.

 

Matt moore // board member

Matt Moore has been in ministry for nearly 25 years serving in various capacities of pastoral ministry and teaching for 15 years as an adjunct professor at Eternity Bible College. Matt is married to his wife Sarah and they have three kids - Seth, Silas, Blythe. In 2015, his family moved to Sacramento to plant a multi-ethnic and multi-class church in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento. He currently serves as one of the pastors of One Church Sacramento. Matt has a BS in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University. He also has an MDiv from The Master's Seminary.

Mike Nimon is President of the Central Coast Operations in San Luis Obispo and Monterrey, California. Mike has worked for Wathen Castanos for 26 years has been involved in the residential construction industry for over 40 years and has built homes, condos and apartments with public and private production builders in Colorado, Nevada and California. He has been involved with all levels of construction from hands-on to upper management, and he has a BS Degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University.

The Company focuses on corporate strategies and mission directives, high performance home building, and a quality branding focused on excellence in home deliveries to customers.

Wathen Castanos Homes is a two-time award winner of 2011/2012 National Housing Quality Award, 2011 Gold Winner of EVHA Production Homes category for a ZEH Home, and 2011 EVHA’s Builder of the Year for Energy Efficiency, as well as ranked #2 Nationally from Eliant in Sales Referrals.

Mike and his wife, Kathy, have two adult children Sherilee and Brandon and live in Ahwahnee, California. Mike is active with family, church and community.  Mike has served 14 years on the church council at Riverpark Bible Church, including serving as the chairman on a rotation basis.  Mike ministers in High School and has started and leads the Samaria Valley Ministry Inc. at RBC that has worked with rural Hispanic churches over the last 9 years, in the cities of Parlier, Orosi, London, Sanger and others.  He also works with Communities in the Name of Christ to encourage the growth of rural Pastors and lay leader training for youth.

 

Trent Brown // Board Member

Trent Brown is a Partner of Deloitte & Touche LLP and joined Deloitte in 1999. Trent has extensive experience in public accounting with a focus on public companies.  His clients have included large, well-established multinational public companies as well as smaller technology companies. 

Trent’s experience serving clients with complex technical accounting issues has given him valuable insight into issue identification and resolution, and in understanding the considerations unique to such companies. Throughout his career, Trent has provided services in connection with many equity/debt public and private offerings (i.e., IPOs, leveraged buyouts, and bond offerings), and he has been involved in helping to resolve many accounting and SEC compliance issues. Trent serves as a concurring review partner on a number of Deloitte’s public and private clients. He also serves as an instructor for Deloitte technical training courses. 

Outside Deloitte, Trent spends much of his spare time with his wife, four children, and church family.  Trent and his wife are passionate about serving the community that they live.  Alongside their church, they are actively involved with the local park by coaching children, teaching clinics, and in assisting the local park in providing scholarships for children who do not have the means to participate otherwise.

Jordan king // Board Member

Jordan King is a Vice President & majority owner of R.M. King Company, a third generation family owned business. R.M. King Company is a manufacturer of aftermarket parts & mechanic shop for cotton picker headers. Jordan has experience in human resources, international sales, business development and administration. 

Jordan married his highschool sweetheart, Sharon, in 2005 after graduating from Biola University with a BS in Business Accounting. Jordan & Sharon worked together to establish a couples mentoring program in 2008. This faith based program connects ministry couples within the local church to couples needing support throughout the community. Over the last 10 years this ministry has provided support to more than 100 couples. 

Jordan also serves in several capacities at his home church, Peoples Church in Fresno, CA. He is head of their Couples Ministry, Council President, Nominating Committee Chairman, Executive Committee member, & Finance Committee member. He has a passion for helping organizations and individuals utilize their resources to impact their communities.
