Inspiring Youth through S.T.E.A.M.

Conquering Discouragement One Game at a Time

Hope Tech is designed around S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) where students learn 21st century skills to create their own games.

We are currently serving students in the Oak Park and South Sacramento areas of Sacramento County who are enrolled in grades 6-12. Our goal is to connect youth to professional mentors not only for their individual growth, but to develop skills and inspiration to be the engine of change for their local communities.

[The youth] learned valuable problem solving skills, learned how to work on a team and learned about technology in ways they would not be exposed to if Hope Tech wasn’t on campus...

We had a great experience at American Legion campus partnering with Hope Tech.”

- Richard Baranowski, Principal at American Legion High School

Innovation Challenge I & II

The Innovation Challenge is the core program of Hope Tech Youth. This program is created for students that have little to no experience with computers, and is adaptable for those that have more computer experience.

Innovation Challenge I is the first class students can take to learn the tools and skills to develop their first game. Innovation Challenge II is an expansion of Innovation Challenge I where students learn more complex skills.

We have designed the curriculum where it can meet students where they are at with their technology skill level.

INNOVATION ENGINE

After students complete Innovation Challenge I & II, they have an opportunity to apply to our more advanced program - The Innovation Engine. The Innovation Engine is a creative way for students to come together to solve community issues and design a game that responds to these challenges.
